Op 12 november as organiseert Oos Fanfaar het jaarlijkse Galaconcert. Elk jaar heeft dit concert een bijzonder thema en wordt gezocht naar verbindingen met andere muziekstromingen. Onder het moto "Gabriël Rocks" staat het concert in het teken van Rockmuziek. Dit concert wordt een cross-over naar de symfonische rockmuziek jaren 70 en 80. Muziek van oa Queen, Metallica, Alan Parsons, Led Zeppelin, Jeff Wayne en de Scorpions Arrangeur Roel van Wijk heeft in opdracht van Sint Gabriël speciaal voor dit concert enkele muziekstukken van de Scorpions bewerkt tot een groot rockwerk voor fanfareorkest. Gebaseerd op de concerten van de Scorpions met de Berliner Philharmoniker in 2000. Om een indruk te krijgen van deze concertreeks kijk op internet bij: you tube Scorpions Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Een van de hoogtepunten zal ongetwijfeld Roel's bewerking van de Deadly Sting suite part 1 en 2 zijn. Om het rockige karakter van de muziek zoveel mogelijk naar voren te kunnen laten ko! men zal het korps zal die avond versterkt worden door oa solo gitaar en bas gitaar. Ook liefhebbers van het betere gitaarwerk komen volledig aan hun trekken. Met dit cross-over concert "Gabriël Rocks" hopen we weer een bijdrage te leveren aan vernieuwende fanfare muziek. Deze avond is een must voor zowel de echte fanfaremuziek liefhebber, als de mensen die nog in de 70- en 80-tiger jaren hebben genoten van de rockers.
